Price €   Ducati Sport Classics evoke classic 1970’s Ducati bikes, their breathtaking victories on the racing track and the brand’s dedication to Italian design. They are the newest release from an ongoing collaboration between Ducati and The Aquila Brands, Italian specialists in pen design and manufacturing. Ducati Sport Classics are a more elaborate and dramatic, stripped version of the earlier Ducati Writing Machines.
Polished in their raw state, Ducati Sport Classics invite examination into all the technical intricacies behind their creation - a reference to the current penchant for motorbikes with exposed engines, whose inner workings are totally visible. The raw metal of the body of the pen is an aluminum alloy also used in racing cars and aeroplanes. Pure brass on the rim and clip is machined to achieve its smooth appearance. A red enamel stripe fills the groove on the pen’s barrel echoing the design of Ducati’s new limited edition Sport Classic bikes, while the Ducati logo is embedded into the cap. Both ballpen and fountain pen, have a recessed brass clip. A sophisticated and unique spring loaded mechanism means the clip needs to be pressed into the cap before it is gently released. The rims of the caps are reminiscent of the shape of vintage motorcycle headlights. Inside the caps, a derlin inner cap prevents the pens from drying so they start writing instantly and effortlessly. The gel ballpen refill guarantees superior writing performance, gliding on the page significantly faster than a regular ball pen.
