Gold plated brass body with 'Togidashi Maki-E' 18k gold nib, M only. Clipless cap with ring.
Each pen is hand-crafted by the the artists and presented in lacquered ash wood cases, each with a numbered certificate of authenticity signed by Richard Dunhill. It incorporates a gilded brass body and cap that have been dried, re-coated with lacquer and charcoal burnished in the togidashie technique. Senmen is Japanese for "fan", and the pen depcits a number of these, finished in lustrous mother-of-pearl and gold. The fans are embellisehd with landscapes and flowers symbolizing the four seasons, with typical foliage for summer, cherry and apricot blossoms for spring, the colorful chrysanthemum and red leaves in a stream for autumn, and snow covered Mt. Fuji for winter. |

Each pen is hand-crafted by the the artists and presented in lacquered ash wood cases, each with a numbered certificate of authenticity signed by Richard Dunhill.
It reveals the togidashie technique in its gold and silver powsder patterns of this Asian perennial evergreen fern. The fern motif itsel,f which shows the numerous white spores spread over the backs of its large leaves split in two like outstretched wings, is believed to represent good fortune, and is used as a New Year decoration. |
